Foundation ready for backfill in Nederland, CO

• 0:11 - 0:39 Hey guys, it's Jessie high-performance. Earthworks. Checking this out. This is another backfill that we're going to be doing right here behind me. This is in the middle of downtown Netherland got the fire station right there right behind us. And I'm going to get of guys cook quick walkthrough of how we're going to approach this and Tackle. This is gonna be tricky one. So basically we got a kind of a sequencing situation here. We have this Foundation opened up as you can see here. We got about 18 inches of topsoil right on. • 0:40 - 1:01 Here and then we get down in some good Sandy Cobb Lee dirt. This is from an ancient riverbed here. This is a valley floor here. So we got a lot of cobbles and rounded Rock that's kind of been weathered and rounded off all the corners and everything. So that's the that's the sand that we're building this this house on it's basically a river bottom from. • 1:03 - 1:33 From the the migration of this River throughout the back-and-forth of this inside this Valley here inside of Netherland. We have some unsuitable soil right there. We got a little pocket of dirt. That's this not suitable for for structure. So I'm going to we're going to have to get in here and excavate that out and dig that out. So then and we'll have to replace that with rock. So tomorrow we're just coming in with one load. • 1:33 - 2:03 Of 3/4 inch crushed rock from from down below. We'll have that imported that'll be washed. And we're going to first step is to go ahead and dig down a 1 foot wide trench that's going to be 12 inches down below our footing so that we can capture and drain off any ground water that may come up from and that's going to keep this soil where this Foundation is sitting nice and dry. • 2:03 - 2:21 By the whole time and then we will have basically two high spots here and drain it all out to down there essentially the high spots. I don't remember but we'll probably do those, you know one here. • 2:24 - 2:54 Actually, just yeah, I don't remember I'm gonna have to chat with the the train guy. He's gonna do the perimeter drain and come in here and take care of that. So that's going to be first step is we're going to dig out this trench here one foot down all the way around this perimeter of this Foundation that's going to be really tricky as you can see, there's all kinds of little jogs and and whatnot in here, so we're going to have a hell of a time trying to get that Dugout, but we'll do it one way or another. • 2:54 - 2:57 We'll get that Dugout meanwhile. • 2:58 - 3:27 We're also going to need to come in and fill this entire footprint of this house with rock as well. And we're going to do drainage drain pipes in here. We'll have a sump in here and we'll have some drain pipe in here inside the gravel inside the Rock and it will go into a sump pump. I think maybe we put the sump pump right there. We're going to have a nice big pit because we're going to. • 3:28 - 3:47 It all that unsuitable soil from from out of right there. I don't know what that was. There was an old shed here. I thought it might have been an old abandoned Outhouse and that's where that unsuitable soil. Is. It just really dark kind of organically stuff so it could be some old humanure. • 3:48 - 3:54 Human waste we got our topsoil over there stockpiled and ready for final grading and we have a whole bunch of. • 3:56 - 4:26 Sandy material there that we're going to be coming in to this footprint with and we'll be raising up this footprint basically and 12 inch lifts under the guidance of our soil Geotech geotechnical engineer. They're going to be doing compaction test every step of the way as we lift it up and we'll have water and a sheepsfoot roller compactor that will be running and you know have plenty of plenty of guys here. • 4:26 - 4:40 And while the Water Source we got our copper pipe sticking up right there. So probably one of the first things we're going to do is go ahead and hook up the public utility so that we can have plenty of water on site and we can use that water for our compaction. • 4:41 - 4:43 Then as we. • 4:49 - 5:18 Yes, we're doing our list will be adding water in running our sheepsfoot compactor and will be coming in here with with loaders. We're going to need to get into the footprint here with our with our equipment. So we'll probably end up building a ramp down and in and then be Distributing our material all throughout in here and then we'll finalize everything with the final grading will have our utilities done. We'll be out of here. I'll be another house foundation and then the frame. • 5:18 - 5:48 Can start getting after it and going gangbusters and hopefully this all get done before winter. This is still kind of the first week in August. So with a little luck, they'll have this thing dried in before the snow flies. I can finish out this house and in winter time, they'll be ready by Spring we can come back in and do any touch-ups and any final grading and any Landscaping that the customers might want at that point and we'll be. • 5:48 - 6:04 All set and so this is one of three houses. I believe that we're going to be backfilling here in the next two to three weeks. So we got a lot of backfilling to do and get these foundations ready for construction. It's going to be fun.m
