Boulder retaining walls in Nederland Colorado

• 0:32 - 1:01 Heyguys, Jessie high-performance Earthworks getting this little sweet Little Rock work dial down. We're going to do a rock retaining wall down there. We got our drainage down there. So go you got always start at the bottom. So as with everything you got to get to the bottom of it before you start building. So we're starting to lowest lowest point, which is going to be water where the water is going to go and exit and remove itself from the bottom back of the wall. Then we'll build this retaining wall right here. Then we're going to cut a levels. • 1:02 - 1:19 They're from from that steak there and cut it shave it in level and then we're going to have the we're going to do some Terraces up there towards the back and we'll will Shore up where that crack is starting to show will get that filled in with our squeegee, which is what I threw down here right here. I'm going to remove these rocks and then we'll start building. This wall can be awesome. • 1:56 - 1:57 All right, so I got this. • 1:58 - 2:18 This pad all dug out here. I'm going to shoot it with the laser clean up some of these rocks and boulders and then I'm going to start placing these these giant Boulders up into the into the hillside here and I'm going to do my first here and I have about eight foot elevation change right here. So I'm going to have basically two slightly below forefoot. • 2:20 - 2:36 Walls but I am going to be being an up the base the the pad 4 inches with gravel and then we'll do another foreign slabs. There will be 8 inches there. So it's gonna come out to be pretty close to around 3 foot. • 2:38 - 2:47 Walls maybe a little more but I guesstimated I guesstimated about three foot walls. So that's what we got. • 3:12 - 3:12 Yeah. • 3:17 - 3:18 A weenie party hangover. • 3:34 - 3:40 Those are the big boulders there that are going to go along that back wall. We're going to go in first. • 4:15 - 4:32 All right, so we put down a drainpipe 3 inch drain pipe at the back and the bottom of the wall. Now we're going to start building up with Boulders coming up from there. We got the drainpipe bedded in squeegee it nice and porous lots of drainage in the back. So we won't have anything sinking around this. • 4:34 - 4:35 This house here. • 4:46 - 5:14 Alright, so we got our first course of Boulders down. These are all about three to four-foot diameter Boulders for a first course. We got our squeegee and our pipe down. Normally you'd want to see this notched out for a nice little pan where these Boulders are all going to sit but because we're going to be coming up here with some some gravel and then a concrete slab. I'm going to have about eight inches of backfill. • 5:15 - 5:37 Around here in the interior, so I don't need to keep these in so much I would be going for about eight inches of backfill, but I'm going to be doing all that gravel right in here first, then we'll be doing a 4-inch slab over the top of that. But yeah, we doing a whole lift of squeegee here for drainage and then I'm going to come in with dirt on top of that. • 5:43 - 6:10 All right. I'm over here coming together got our first tier in gonna probably come in with a couple more small rocks right across there to make that line level and then I'm rebuilding the top got some nice big beefy Boulders up there. Then I'm back filling everything with squeegee so that that squeegee squeegee is what's known in the industry as a flowable fill meaning. It'll. • 6:10 - 6:24 Into the voids similar to Concrete so you can see we got we definitely have a void up in there the more I can get the squeegee to kind of flow up into there. • 6:25 - 6:48 And fill that void the better better off we'll be looks like it might I caved up in there a little bit and ideally I would get squeegee all the way up in there, but that's going to be difficult to do without. Basically. I need to try to create some head pressure and then push it down and get it to come up on the other side, which I don't know fucking do that. So the very least it'll be reinforced right along the edge here. • 6:49 - 7:11 And this ought to be a lot better as you can see, this is the way the foundation was when I got here the Earth was was moving away. So we're we're doing is property and this is customer service by fortifying this embankment here and he's going to put a tough shot in right here. It'll be nice.
